Bisbee and Bensen, AZ

We moved up from Tombstone to a little town called Bensen.   We are members of an rv group called the Escapees and they have a park in Bensen.  The rates are awesome and the people are better.  You are greeted with a smile and hug and everyone waves as they pass you on the street.  There are Escapee parks all over the US and they are all different, but they are all alike in that the people are super friendly.  If you're going to spend a holiday weekend alone without your family, then Escapees is the place to do it.  We spent Easter weekend here and although we were disappointed that they didn't have some potluck dinner going on, we were very happy here.
This was the view from our windshield while staying at the Escapees park in Bensen

The sites were large.

The company was good and the sunsets were awesome.

Bon appetit!
and Easter dinner was pretty nice!

Next we're off to the town of Bisbee.  Bisbee used to be a copper mining town and a large portion of the land around it is still owned by mining companies.   Mining companies pay for the mining museum so you don't hear too much about the land they've polluted.  But there are some pics.

That thick black liquid in the bottom of this pit mine is not hot chocolate.  There is no way to describe the size of this mine.  Huge earth moving equipment drove around on those little ledges.
Downtown Bisbee was a grand old place.

Lots of gift shops and antique stores.

Outside of town is this cute "motel" called Shady Dell.  They rent you redone AirStreams for your vacation!  Each one is unique..

Now that's just too cute.

  1. OK Cindy - it's been a while since you've posted updates here - what's up girlfriend? I know you're off running all over the country - where internet, phone and TV services do not exist! Come back to civilization! Miss chatting with you!
